Default Any local knowledge around the Yorkshire Dales areas ?

Hi,

I've never fished in this area (I've booked a few nights in Skipton next week) so would appreciate any ideas of good places for trout (still water or river). Scenery, peace, quiet etc more important than bagging up quickly.

From trawling the web Coniston Hall and Malham Tarn look interesting; any views ?

All opinions / local knowledge gratefully receieved.

cheers

BBandW

Coniston Hall is a nice stillwater and I think they also do day tickets for the River Aire.....which holds some good fish but will be very low at the moment!

The washburn valley reservoirs (fewston and swinsty) are worth a shout. Lovely surroundings and decent fishing. Not been myself for a couple of years but prior to that fished it every week. I am hoping to go myself soon, what days are you planning on being up here? If you want I could meet you for a day if I'm available? pm me if you're interested.

Cheers

Mat
