Default A star is born

Did anyone else notice that Steve Cullen, editor of Total Flyfisher, used the news pages of his May edition to reveal that he has joined the angling firmament?
For those of you who missed it, the item in question declares: “Some of top stars of fly fishing, including editor Steve Cullen, graced the Spring Flyfishing Show.
“Graced,” no less. Presumably the word was chosen so that we lesser mortals would be left in no doubt as to our good fortune that a “top star” such as Mr Cullen should move among us.
As a Scot, Mr Cullen will no doubt be familiar with the expression “a fine conceit of himself.” Perhaps it is one on which he would care to reflect.

Maybe he isn't that good an editor and missed it before it went to print and somebody else wrote it,eh! Seriously though, from what I hear of the man, he is a stand up guy and in no way conceited

Jeez Angus,
was press release by organisers, selling up the spring show.
In advertising, power words, and "sexy" words are king.
Publishers, and therefore editors, are paid to publicise these releases.
Editorial input is not therefore, allowed!

A grossly inaccurate piece of reporting .... I wasn't there.

Might have been written with a slightly sarcastic angle...
