Default Shooting Rainbows in a barrel

After blanking again on the not so mighty lough Corrib and belive you me im not the only one i decided to head inland to fish for some rainbows, had a cracking days fishing with over 20 fish up to 10 lb's weight. Is this what fishing is supposed to be like? or has flogging the Corrib for the odd fish made me think that if it does not take a day or two to catch a fish then its to easy.

Sounds oh so familiar corrib. I fish for sea trout when they're running, and rainbows when I'm waiting for them to arrive. As similar as the two forms may appear, they are poles apart. I often go days (or should that be nights) without so much as hooking a sea trout, but it never disappoints, because of atmosphere. Yet when I'm fishing a reservoir, if I haven't had a touch for an hour I'm scratching my head and going through the box.

Both are fly fishing for trout, but they are completely different, and with it expectations also differ.

Nothing wrong with a bit instant gratification, Its fun after all isnt it? You know, corrib, that its by far not the only string in your "bow"(lol) so enjoy the odd trip to the barrel, nothing wrong with it at all
