Is there enough CDC in the fly?.... if so, dry the wing using amadou or similar .. i use Birch Bracket fungus... Then apply a little gink floatant... make sure its all melted and apply sparingly... To fish em I only use a single fly.... I taper the leader from 32lbs (4ft) 20lbs (3ft) 15lbs (3ft) ish....

. then attach my leader to fly material... 4lbs clear mono.... 5ft (ish)?... Cast out n give the line a quick pull to sink the leader.... i like to hold my rod pointing up to say 10 o clock... I'm then 'triggered' n ready to lift into any take... Use some Muscilin on the front 6ft - 8ft of your floating line...

Before you cast the fly, make sure you can handle the fish!
