Unhappy Wanted: Maggots and Powerbait (or something to help me catch!!)

Wanted: Maggots and Powerbait (or something to help me catch!!)

Two sessions at Hanningfield and nothing but a couple of tugs for my efforts yet I am being brave enough to try my hand at fishing a comp tomorrow??

I am beginning to severely doubt my efficacy as a fly fisherman.......

Watch the classifieds......there may be a shedful of fly rods up there soon

My current drought is unfathomable when I know I am often where the fish are, at the right depth and using the same flies.........so what gives?

I think it must just be 'one of those things' and will pass soon

Thanks for the 'chin up' though, Chaps

Sunkist, you need to spend some time with Charlie....he's developed this new method that is fool proof........seriously...........chucke ya flees out, then wind in like fury.....if you cant get one in the mouth then just stick the hook up it's ars!!!! Deadly!!!!

You'll get through it mate, and don't be put off by the comp stuff. If you worry about it then you won't perform. Just relax and enjoy your day.

It's just the same as worrying about getting a....cough....cough...infront of a new bird, if you think about it ......it wont happen!!..........or so they tell me!!!

Aye, Mr A was on the phone with me twice today to see how I was getting on as he is in the same HFFA comp tomorrow and was a bit put out that I hadnt caught anything.

I shall be watching him like a hawk tomorrow as he is a bit of a fish magnet

And, yes, the 'cough....cough' has happened before albeit I was on crutches and two days after a major operation on my knee and full of morphine......truth be told, I was in more pain with 6 staples holding my knee together than interested in a frilly pair of knickers. Mind you, at least she dd the washing and shopping for me

Ben
