Hello fellas

i have been on a bit of a sabbatical, the cabin fever in here got a bit much for me, there seem to be an influx of folks who frankly i couldn't stand and they seemed to be perpetuating the most petty tit for tat squabbles.

SWMBO had some jobs for me to do about the house and it seemed like a good idea to do them, i also got rid of my reef aquarium to make way for a bureau to house my fly tying junk..

so new season is here, i have been invited to take a rod with a nice club that has 4 trout and 2 salmon beats on the itchen and i am looking forward to te coming antics BUT..

where is everybody... this place is like the marie celeste, more life in a tramps vest !!!

Icky, do you subscribe to any other fishing web sites ? These places do seem to have only a limited lifespan of real excellence, certainly the same happened to the Cemex (ex-RMC) coarse fishing web site that I look at from time to time.

A number of the old stalwarts are still around and posting good stuff, and some newcomers like Steve Parton and one or two others, are obviously worth reading. But as you say, some of the petty squabbling and name calling that goes on can be pitiful to behold.

Looking on the bright side, it does seem as if a whole generation of somewhat juvenile mischief-makers came and went on this site over about an 18 month period, and the same may happen again.

There's a lot if truth in what you say Icky - I gave up looking during the winter because the 'closed season blues' seemed to make a lot of people take out their frustration on each other! Nice to see you back anyway!
