Hi comrades,

I have developed a problem with my casting.... nicks develop on my leader about 3ft from the point. i think my point fly causes the problem as it turns over. it is particularly obvious with flurocarbon.Is it a timing problem?.. does anybody have a suggestion.

possibly the tippet is too fine for the size of fly or not a steep enough taper in the leader making it difficult for the leader to turn over without tailing itself.

Check out your backcast - either you're missing the lift at the end of it or you may be jumping the delivery before it has unwound !
