Default Help...fly reel drag!

Hi,
does anybody know how to reverse the drag on a Shakespeare Odyssey fly reel,I know its a cheapie,I got it to try a 3 weight Lefty Kreh rod out!
It states on the box that it is left or right handed,I prefer the handle to the left and fly cast with my right.Thank you.

I got the exact same reel a couple of weeks ago for my 3wt rod. I have it reeling with my left hand but you have to reel clockwise. Annoying, i know, but i cannot figure out how to get it to reel anticlockwise like any other reel i have

Aye mate, bust ye it would.Sat in the garden all afternoon trying to suss it,seems a good enough wee reel for 20 notes with a spare spool. What about they tiny wee screws on the inside? Bet you enjoyed tring to put them back in,eh?

Had it in bits,to no avail. Its not the pawl that reverses,as that only goes the one way!

I must have spent an hour trying to get them screws back in, came close to throwing the spare spool against the wall on a couple of occasions . Yeah for 20quid it seem like a good wee reel, havn't tried it out yet but plan to some evening this week. Be sure and let me know if you get it sorted out

I thought I'd come across this before!!

I don’t know how to post the previous thread link with the same question, but another forum member posted the below advice:

Re: Fly reel problem

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just found out all you have to do is change the bearing around. Take off spool look at the back opposite handle lift out the shouldered plastic bit with the bearing in with a small screwdriver or knife, once out of housing, push the bearing out, you can push it back easily with your fingers job done, don't forget to turn the bearing around before you push it back.

Good Luck.

Dyl.

You might have to fiddle with the clicky doohickey too - but that sort of optional anyway.
