the other week i tock my lad to start his own fly collection,so we went of to the only shop near us that stocks some fly gear,well after £40 odd pounds he had a new box and a nice little collection of flies,or so we thought!
well of we went to toft and his day started out great catching almost within the first 20 minutes,then as the day went on the flies all started to drop to bits one by one,and some with out evern the help of a fish so now i have to buy him yet again evern more flies but this time he will have to wait till i have some more spare cash and time to drive some place else in the hope he can get some flies worth buying,till then hes gonna have to use mine.so are most shops flies make as cheaply as the ones he got or is it due to the fact its not a propper game fishing supplyer?

take them back ,they are faulty goods no matter what if they are coming apart without even fishing them ,demand your money back

they were used,maybe 3 or 4 casts and then they started to drop to bits,but the ones that got the fish were little more than hooks with a bit of silk thread on them

they still shouldnt be coming apart if they haven't had a fish mauling them, even then i would expect them to last for taking two/three fish at least ???????

Bruce is right, take them back.
You will find better value on this site from some of the guys and some of the commercial ones.

With regard to buying more flies have you checked out any online suppliers? Essential fly have always been good quality for me but Im sure others can recommend their own favourites also

now buy Orvis flies tadge dearer but much better product!!

Are you talking about the shop on one of the Scunny trading estates Ryan? I can't remember it's name but the flies they sell are very cheap and pretty poor IMHO. I tried a few and they fell to pieces although I didn't return them as it would have cost me more in petrol than I would have got back! What sort of flies is the boy after? PM me and I'll see if I can help as I'm not more than a few minutes away from you at weekends.
