Default Elan Valley Info

I've recently purchased a season ticket for the Elan Valley reservoirs and was hoping to glean a little information from anybody with experience in fishing them.

As you can appreciate there is a vast amount of water to fish and although I have located a couple of nice areas some 'local knowledge' wouldn't go amiss.

I am assuming that fly patterns would mainly be concentrating around terrestial patterns.

So any help regarding flies, location, times of day etc would be greatly appreciated.

Sabsman.

Hi Mick,

Can't help unfortunately, but the Blog is coming on nicely.

When you start to fish the Elan waters let us know how you get on.

Cheers,

David

Thanks David,

I did a quick search on the forum before posting and to be honest previous attempts by other forum members to gain info on this venue threw up very few results.

I can see why that might be - because every time i've been up there walking or fishing i've only ever seen one person fishing! maybe all the prime spots are tucked away where nobody can see you.

Will let you know how I get on.

Mick.

The chain of reservoirs suffers dreadfully from a total lack of boats - a remarkable percentage of the bankside is effecitvely unfishable when the water is at a high level - I'm told it improves a low level...

Pray for drought.
