Default Which Drogue ????

Hi Folks,

I was out on the new boat at the weekend. The fishing was difficult enough as the wind and drift were in the same direction which meant that my retrieve was far too quick for my liking.

I badly need to purchase a drogue. What is the best drogue for a 19 ft lake boat and where is the best place to purchase one ?

Thanks in advance

Steve Parton on the forum here as well and the prices seem pretty keen.

He has great knowledge on the set up to get you going.

Greys drogue , used one this weekend for 2 days, and I was not impressed, the drogue just would not open when deployed without some assistance 80% of the time, the material just did not want to seperate and open up. anyone else had this experience. Bought it on the good reviews it had.
Note I am very used to using drogues, not a set up issue.

The Grey's one sounds expensive for Chinese made - we do a UK Made Standard (1.5m sq) for £16.99 ( all cords fitted ) plus p&p .

At 19' the boat may be big for a standard drogue - so if your pals say bigger is needed - come back at me and I'll make one to suit - it will be more expensive

Best wishes

I use a Wychwood Paradrogue..............some people don't like the cord used apparently but I've never had a problem with it. A good sound drogue that works well for around £25 (I think, it's been a while since I bought mine).........................birdsnest
