Talking new...

Hello all, new to the forum and fly fishing.Been a carp angler for 20years but have started to be put off by the shear numbers on the bank. I am very passionate about fishing and would like to keep this passion going. I have decided to take up fly fishing, There are a few stillwater's close by and the odd river within an hour of me.I have been looking into lessons ,I havn't purchased any equipment yet ,waiting to see what waters i am likley to fish.
Hopefully i can get a bit of advice from this forum from time to time.

Welcome to the sport and the forum. There seems to be plenty of good information laced with common sense in these pages.

As with all sports it can be worth while spending a few pounds initially having a hour or so with a coach. It can prevent bad habits forming and perhaps save the cost of the tuition in the long run with help on choosing equipment and identifying venues.

A coach registered with the Angling Development Board can be located near you by going to the Angling Trust (or Angling Development Board) web page and clicking on Find a Coach.
