Default Importance or "teams" / "attractors" ?

Hi Guys

I was wondering how important certain "teams" are or fly postion ?

Example size 14 clyde spider kills for me on still waters but only when top dropper ? move it along the cast and it stops being so deadly or completely stops ?? move it bak up next cast fish !!

I find size 12 leven spider fished point with a big bushy size 10 kate with long golden phesant crest tail out fishes the leven spider in any other postion ?

Last night i was fishing two flys zulu top dropper and damsel nymph point 5ft from dropper 12'- 13' leader floating line over shallow water the damsel only seem to work when teamed with the zulu ?? tried diawl bach /claret bumble/clan chiefblack hopper as droppers................. soon as i put the zulu back on damsel started working again ? I thought it was simply the big black bushy zulu was simpy wroking as an attractor ?? but the other big patterns i tried "should" have done the same job , but didnt .......?

Interested to hear your views on certain "teams" i.e patterns that seem to work well or better when put together ??
