Default Fluoroflex

I have used Rio Fluoroflex 5x,6x for the last year or so for river nymphing. Im well pleased with the stuff, particularily knot strength not so pleased with the price. Retails here at about 12 Euro for 25/30 yard spool. That makes it nearly as dear as one of pirates fly lines.

With this bloody recession simple purchases of these sort of things have to be considered as un-necessarily expensive i.e 36 euro for 3 spools = 90 yards of line.

Can anyone recommend any other flurocarbon that doesnt break the bank but is close or better than fluoroflex in the 5/6/7x range.

thanks

hello mate
i used this stuff for a while back in 2007 but found it too expensive and only lasted me like 2 weeks
I switched to copolymer and maxima for river nymphing
These are cheaper and last longer
Maxima does a flurocarbon in 25meter spools for £5 but cant verify its performance
Like i said copolymer and brown maxima are my first choice !!

Hello,

How about Sightfree G3......£13.99 buy one get one free 100m spools (Fishtec/Tightlines direct/Celtic Flycraft) have used it for the last 5/6 years in 10/6 ibs no complaints so far, fish stillwaters only so wouldn't know about finer diameter that you would use on the river just thinking about the cost
