Default bulk fluorocarbon

Did anyone try to buy fluorocarbon line (6 or 8 lb at around 0.2 mm dia) in bulk in the UK? It seems you can get it in USA (1-3000 m) but here we have to go for small amounts (50-100 m) at great cost.

thanks

mjg

Hi check e bay 1750yds for £24.50+p&p 0.25mm or try this, ultima power carp fluorocarbon
the 8lb which is the minimum strength is the same diameter 0.26 as vanish the write up says it is very supple and knot strength is good and at £14 delivered for 1000m would be a bargain cheers Noel

Can you supply the ebay URL'S for the above mentioned?
Found the ultima power carp fluorocarbon which isn't pure fluorocarbon, but coated mono; just cannot find the 1750yds item.

The power carp is good stuff ,but only coated, stands outlike a sore thumb in the water, for bulk, pure flurocarbon, try X-line( £20 for 650mtrs) or the Fox Illusion, both available in low BS.

Sorry for being ignorant here but what is the difference between 6lb flurocarbon line and normal 6lb line you would use for spinning etc??

Me , I don't use the stuff - too many rogues out there prentending - bulk trade price for the real deal ( if you can afford to pay ) around $50 per kilo ! (So that's about 200 x 100m spools of 6lb ! ) ( Whoops - you've all been had ! )

best wishes

Default Bulk fluourocarbon

Try Alibaba.com and search for fly fishing, you will find lots of suppliers at great pricing. (a fraction of retail)

Those in the trade will correct me but I believe Berkley Trilene is the same stuff as their vanish fluorocarbon.

Berkleyvanish is pants, totally unreliable, don,t waste your money!
X-line is aimed at the carp market, its decent stuff, I,ve used it for several years ,both as a reel line and for hooklenghts for barbel/carp fishing. It is a tad over-rated on BS, by about 20%, so for 6lb, buy the 8lb, it is very fine diameter compared with mono, and you can get it for £20 for 650mtrs, shop around.

Byrnsey, the main difference is that flurocarbon is as near invisible in water as it gets! Its a tad stffer than mono, and generally slightly finer in diameter than he same BS mono.
