Default Foxons and Sage Rod Repairs

I recently bust the top section of my XP and thought I was faced a long wait for a new tip.

Then I remembered having read on Foxons web site that they are appointed UK Rod Repairers by Sage.

Quick phone call to Renee Foxon, no problem and I will have the rod back tomorrow..that's about a fortnight.

Two things here...superb service from a very friendly company from whom I have bought rods and things over the years and secondly to highlight their Sage Appointment. Makes a big difference being able to deal with a Firm like them.

I had a similar experience when my orvis broke and I had a upgraded rod within 2 weeks. You pay a bit more for the warranty but it could pay for itself in the end.

I also waited for well over two months for my xp to be returned following mid section breakage.
So super fast repairs on expensive rods under life long warranty do not always go hand in hand.

I believe that Renee actually does (or used to do) all the warranty repairs for Sage and they also built the Winstons for the UK market so absolutely no problem with the quality of work, on top of which they're a very friendly and helpful shop.

My wife still thinks it's a complete coincidence that we ended up living within a few miles!!

As I said in the opening post, Renee is the appointed Sage Rod Repairer for the UK. I wished to highlight that fact to Sage Owners on the Forum since I don't think it is generally known.

Another positive post for Foxons, they are my local shop and I would need to find a good reason to buy a fly rod from anyone else.

One of the best fishing shops around.
