Default Alarm

In Boston on Saturday the Crimestoppers people were dishing out for free personal alarms. These are key ring based and when the owner feels threatened the alarm unit is tugged sharply off the key ring and it emits an earsplitting 115dB dual alarm.

Obviously these things are aimed at the ladies and children but I thought....what if I were incapacitated whilst fishing through injury or (worse still) health reasons.

Nobody at the fishery would know that I required attention until it would be too late.

I now have one of these freebies secured to a D ring on my jacket.

If you hear it, please give me a hand!! I would do the same for you!

Startling ain't it just what the dying thrashings of an inept Government produces .

I did wonder why they sent the local 'busys' round here the other day with Free 'Smart Water '! I'd have far preferred something useful like Fenland got .

I shall surely come and investigate if you fire it off within earshot ! Jealous tho I am !

Best wishes

Steve P

Crimestoppers is a charity. It's got nothing to do with Government.

I wouldn't mind one of those, I am always falling in the river.

I'd love to know where I could get one of these? I take my youngest son with me when I go fly fishing and it would comforting to know he could attract attention should anything happen if my attention was diverted.

You don't need one of those, unless it works underwater, what you need is a pair of waterwings !

A simple plastic whistle is the time-honoured way of attracting attention for those in trouble.

It has the advantage of working both DURING and AFTER being immersed.

Don't worry.
The Tories will almost certainly get back into power at the next General Election & we can all look forward to a recession every 5 years rather than 1 in 13.
