Default Gairloch

Coming up to fish the area in May and was wondering what flies would you use at that time of year.

I know of the Fairy Lochs and others and am just looking forward to having some good fishing after wild Browns in the hills.

Any tips welcomed.

Cheers

Dave

Try black pennel, green tailed kate mcClaren, grhe nymphs"gold heads" clan chief, soldier-palmers, loch ordies, doobrie, connamara, but for more info go to wild-fishing-scotland.co.uk and most guys will indulge you and happy fishing

Told by local fishers years ago to make sure there's a bit of red in it. I would think that advice probably still works. Caught quite a few on a Red Cardinal.

Anything small, hairy and black has always done OK for me up there.

Cheers guys, just hope it warms up just a tad

Don`t mind being chilly but hate that white stuff.

You might find something in this angling guide to the area.
