Default Felix Farm Berkshire

Thinking about heading to Felix Farm Fishery this month & don't know much about it. Been on the website (Welcome to Felix Farm Trout Fishery |) and it seems a nice looking place but I can't find any reviews/guides to it

Anyone got any info? Is it a decent fishery? Or will I be wasting my time?

I've never visited Felix Farm myself, but you could always start by looking here:-

Been to Felix quite a few times over the past year, I really enjoy it - especially taking a boat out.

However, it's really difficult to hook anything - the fish seem to stay deep, and when you do hook fish - whilst they fight pretty well, they don't look to be in great condition.

So in short, I love it, but don't go there to necessarily catch fish - even the regulars often blank. But they run a scheme where it only costs you a tenner each time you come back until you catch your 3/4.

Give it a go. John

i live about 2 miles from it and have fished it twice. it is noisy (m4 runs along behind the fishery and its on the heathrow flight path), the fish are all usually in the middle requiring a boat and i dont really enjoy boat fishing but one mans meat and all that. better to fish the C&R lake at haywards farm reading(sportfish) good sport to be had there, but its not easy. good luck jon.

Coincidentally, I live about 2 miles from Haywards farm and have only fished it once.

I've been on the C&R lake at Haywards Farm 3 times this year and have managed to catch on each visit (mostly only 1/2 fish per visit). It is more difficult but the fish are in excellent condition, a good size and fight very hard so it is rewarding when you catch something.
They seem to respond well to traditional nymphs (GRHE or PTN) and goldhead varieties of these seem to stimulate interest too.
It's not bad value at £20 a session - leaves some change to spend in Sportfish

Hi, I have fished felix farm a few times , the last time was last saturday and it is much improved. There is a new tarrif of 20 for 2 fish and 30 for 4.

Boats get the best sport and the lake has been really well stocked as it is under new management people are banking a lot of fish maily from boats.

The new stock fight hard and stay very deep once hooked which provides its own challenge.

green and black patterns seem the best and gold head motanas get a lot of interest.

The lake has flooded the surrounding the banks and wellies are essential.

Really? When did that all change then? It certainly wasn't like that when I went a couple of months ago. Good to hear though as it is a friendly place to fish.

Looks as though they've got rid of the "come back for a tenner if you don't catch" ticket, that's a bit of a shame.

Will have to go and have another look-see. Cheers. John
