Default THE ULTIMATE FLY?

Hi guys my question is what are your views on this subject? a few years ago i invented a lure and with this lure i decimated stocks on a local fishery time after time. but i tried the lure at another water and the trout didn't seem to like it then i tried it at another water and the same not much result. i then fished the original water again with the lure and it was devastating and my question is why it does well at the one fishery and not the rest. any ideas? for informational purposes it is a silver lure, all silver and looks very much like a roach but at all fishery's roach are in the waters

So you fished it at fishery A and it hammered, then failed at fishery B and fishery C, then back to fishery A and hammered again, right?

Did you not think about stocking policy, fishing pressure etc, rather than ultimate fly?

yes and it worked too good for it to be that. im talking a take every 3 casts i had a fish. where there was fish it is deadly but not on the other waters. its as though the fish at water A expect it to swim past and have no intention of letting it escape

I generally find that the ultimate fly is the one that gets stuck high in a hawthorn bush before it even gets wet..

(usually a few inches from the penulitimate fly)
