Default Is It Worth It....i ask you.

Fisheries are a labour of love but would you have one???

around 16 hours a day in summertime, winters that would kill a polar bear, terrible wet summers, reccessions, ever increasing fish prices, extortionate lease fees and running costs for boats engines and day to day.

Even a small water can cost 40-60,000 per annum to run for the very limited return. I dont know personally why we do it and i have questioned my sanity at times but its a labour of love. is it worth it though???

Who would like to give it a go???

If I had the money to create one, money to buy one, or invest in one, I would pack in my current job in a heartbeat!

Same as with any business I'd have thought. If the balance sheets show a net profit at the end of the year, and there are no glaringly obvious reasons why that shouldn't continue the next, then I'd guess that financially it is viable.

Running your own business, irrespective of what service/product it provides, will never be a 9 to 5.

Would I do it though? Nope, I'd be too busy fishing to get anything done.

After hearing how excited 'wee' Bruno gets each time he goes fishing at Harelaw...........it must be worth it!!!

Still, we only ever see photos of just a fish and a big pair of hands..........how do we know it is him and not someone else?

I would love to. Fed up with working in an office all day. I keep looking into buying a fishery, but it I always struggle to work out how it would make enough money to cover costs, pay the bank loan and pay my wages !

Hello Alex...I guess you would have to go back to the first thought you had of owning a fishery, and the reasons why! I could be wrong, but I doubt it was a get rich quick idea.
Is it worth it? What would you be doing if you didn't have it?

All the best cock.
Pete.
