Default New salmon reel advice please

I am buying my first salmon fly reel, I have a 9-11 wieght rod 13ft. I have looked on line at the Airflow Ballance reel 9-11 which is on sale for £45.99 normal Retail price £199. Can anybody coment if this is a good reel or is there somthin better out there for no more than £50. Thanks Simon.

I would not buy any of their gear except for their sinking flylines. I know some people like their gear but I would rather go for a Magnum reel, have used one for a number of years with no problems

Mmmm ..... let me see .... one quarter of the RRP ... I think that tells you how well they sold and how they were considered.

If you're looking for an inexpensive, no frills, no nonsense salmon reel have a look at the Leeda Profil Salmon. I've bought three of them, not for salmon but for heavy stillwater shooting heads - all from the following Ebay seller, Ovationleisure.

LEEDA PROFIL SIZE 9/10 SALMON REEL on eBay (end time 29-Mar-10 20:59:11 BST)

At £39.99 (including spare spool!) and £4 postage you can't go wrong.

Default Salmon Reels

What about an older reel, some would say 'classic'
I have a couple of Youngs reels here (LINK) which I'm selling for a forum member
Cheaper than new, and a line included
