Default Are You Trying To Be Funny

Hello All, About 10 years ago myself and my mate were banned, all I did was to pick an anchor up before we paid for our tickets, the bailiff made an example of me shouting across the car park, he ordered me to put it back as it had to be paid for prior to picking it, so I had a word with him and told him do you go in shops and pick the items up then pay for them, his reply was are you trying to be funny, then he said you are barred, as I walked up to my mates they had heard, so one of them had a word with him and he was barred for life. The rest of my mates 12 in all walked down to the boats and removed their tackle from them and the bailiff asked them what did they think they were doing, so John put a cheeky grin and told him you've just banned 2 of our party but there is another 12 with them stick your fishery so for the price of an anchor which was £1 the fishery lost about £300.
The bailiff was eventually asked to leave as he was banning angler's every week and he had a few assaults on him he threatened a guy with a shotgun, and tried to take some mushrooms from a guy who had picked them not on the fisheries land.
We nicknamed him Heir Flick.

After reading this thread, I sure am glad I live in a "Free" fishing country where one only pays for a yearly fishing license, where no one charges you for anchor rentals... if someone pulled a gun on me while I was fishing, you can believe that ..that person would be in jail before the cock crowed the next day.................AW

Hello Lads, The guy that got threatened with the shotgun managed to get the gun from the bailiff and floored him so did the lad that was picking the mushrooms, there were many incidents with this bailiff and he just told the anglers they were banned, the owner finally let him go, and it is a happy fishery now so we live and learn. I only fish 1 fishery now.
In the 35years I've fished this was the only time I've been banned for a heap of scrap.

I do understand your words m8...some 20 odd years ago, I lost a good Irish friend to a bomb that took his life and family while we were in our usual "radio communications" on a Sunday morn...I've never forgot that moment..and every year around that time my heart gets sadden once again.

..canadakid...not to sure where you mean for most of my Bow fishing is just south of town starting at 'Fish Creek'..southward...however, have been testing the waters of late at 'Glenmore bridge' area, with some interesting success, quite a few whities, and yep nice 16"-23" browns...actually going to hit that area later on this morning..temps here with be +14c plus....yeah!
