If you're talking scientific anglers wet cel 1 (intermediate) it's, IMO, the best inter out there. Regardless of price. retails about £35-40 ish. Just soak it in a bucket of warm soapy water for a few hours, to get it sinking.

The line you are talking about is the old wetcel 1 ,great for loughstyle fishing as is the clear line with the same sink rate

You filthy liar!!! Sorry Bear, but it is not. Whilst i agree the kelly green and all other wet cels (now called full sinking series or something) is superb, the clear equivalent is an awful line. To be honest, due to their mono core, all clear inters are sh1t! I wouldn't recommend any clear inter. They coil terribly; giving far too much slack and tangles and seem to deteriorate quicker. (probably because of the tangling). i recommend wet cels to everybody, and always have done. IMO the best sinking series on the market; but not the clear inter. I urge you not to buy a clear inter- please!!!

First time I've ever agreed with a stockie basher. Glass-clear intermediates are a nightmare. The clear floaters are even worse. Try fishing dries on them - you have no effin' idea where your flies are without a visible line pointing to them.

While I always found the Kelly Green an invaluable line to have in my kit I always found that it had fierce memory and I was constantly unravelling the coils at my feet.

Don't know about the wet cel 1 but the wet cel 2 - darker green, must be one of the best lines ever out.....very little coiling, shoots lovely, lasts for years.

Hi Ronan,

I've a new Cortland 444 Classic Clear Camo in the box. Its the type I (1.25-1.75ips) WF8. Probably too heavy for you. PM me if your interested. I've the Kelly's Green and the Cortland Clear Camo (type II). Both excellent lines. The Clear Camo would be my first choice. Everyone to their own!

Regards
