The Essential Fly is on a distinguished road
Default Sport Relief Charity Auction

At The Essential Fly we decided we wanted to do something for Sport Relief. After all, fishing is the UK's largest participation sport and, as someone once said, it gets the least recognition!

Anyway, we are auctioning some beautiful flies that have been hand tied by some of our most respected Fly Tyers namely Sandy Dickson, John Tyzack and Dean Andrews. I'm sure these Fly Tyers need no introduction but just in case you don't know them, John Tyzack is Britains six times Rivers Champion and Guide/Instructor/Tyer, Sandy Dickson is a dedicated and highly regarded professional Fly Tyer famous for the Blank Buster Buzzer flies amongst others and Dean Andrews is a passionate Fly Tyer and Fisherman but is also an Actor having starred in most recently BBCs Ashes to Ashes. You will see Dean on Sport Relief on TV this evening with the Ashes to Ashes sketch.

Their donated flies have been framed and will be autographed by the Tyers too. Every penny that is raised will go to Sports Relief.

You can see the flies on eBay. The easiest way to find the items are by visiting eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace and putting the Fly Tyer's name into the search box either, in no particular order, John Tyzack, Dean Andrews and Sandy Dickson. Of course you can bid for them all. Each has donated 3 sets of flies.

The auction is only on this weekend so please do support this initiative - its all for a wonderful cause and a one off opportunity.

Thank you in advance and tight lines from all at The Essential Fly. www.theessentialfly.com

Come on folks... Good cause and all that...

If anyone's interested, the Straggle Baetis in my collection is the fly which took that lovely big grayling from the Dove the other week... If you haven't seen it, check out Glen's blog at Glen Pointon Fly Fishing Blog or follow the link from the bottom of any of his posts.

Happy bidding...

JT
