Read the reports before you go and speak to the rangers when you get there; especially Richard, the younger big burly chap, as he generally knows what is going on as the rest dont fish as much as he does.

Charliea1234 on here is a cracking angler and fishes there a wee bit and often has his finger on the pulse.

I go on very regular basis but will be away over teh next week.

Having fished there on the first week it opened, I can tell you that the fish were deep - right on the bottom. I picked up 10 and landed 7 on a very fast sinker (8" a second) with a team of black/green and white/green boobies whilst back-drifting as it was very cold and the wind was howling!!

Whilst I have seldom fished deeper than a fast intermediate there with a team of nymphs or a washing line; there are times that they may sulk deep.

All in all - check with the rangers and try not to anchor up but keep on the move using a drougue (loch style) to keep covering water.

I won't be fishing there till April 2, so not much help I'm afraid.

Normally it is Di7 and boobies this time of year and gradually they come up. A couple of limits taken last weekend, but I am told it's hard. Not many of the HFA guys have fished it yet as I saw them all on the Airflo match last weekend.

If I get any more info I will post it but Ben is right - the rangers should be able to give you good info.

thanks for the help- i'll get the di-7 spooled up then- not sure what back drifting is- is this as it sounds- drift along in strong wind with the line out behind the boat?

P.s.- might see you there 2.4.10
