Default Primrose Valley Filey N.Yorks Rivers/Streams Day ticket

I am heading off on hols at the end of March for a few days down to secret location near Filey. Is there any good river/stream fishing for wild browns down there. Apparently there is a coarse lake that allows fly fishing where i'll be staying but I'm assuming that will be out of action for the coarse close season (tench, barbel, carp etc)is this correct? Or any local guides? JB

I may be wrong but when i was in Filey last year i could not find much fishing or a good tackle shop.
Mostly course fishing.

The pond in primrose valley looks like a muddy hole to me but after talking to a few locals i am told the course fishing in the pond is good.
I spent a couple of hours and after missing bite after bite i eventually caught a skimmer bream.

Cheese is the choice bait

I also went spinning for Bass but i had no luck.

Good caravan site say hello to Roary

There's no close season on lakes. Hasn't been for years now.

Seeing as you are on holiday why not treat yourself to some fine chalkstream fishing. Mulberry Whin is about 20 miles from Filey: Mulberry Whin - Chalkstream fishing chalkstream flyfishing
Lovely stretch of the Driffield Beck, good fishing, very pleasant owner (not me!! only in my dreams) you can even have a lunch basket if you really want to push the boat out!
