Thumbs up Proof at last: trout are spawning successfully in the Wandle!

Check out what we found yesterday during one of our routine Riverfly monitoring sessions:

http://www.wandlepiscators.net/?p=630

For those of you with proper breeding populations of trout, even in city centres, this may not sound like much. But believe me, for us on the Wandle this is big, big, BIG!

It's almost an excuse to go off and get vey, vey...

Theo

A tremendous accomplishment, Theo. Well worth celebrating, certainly if you caught one in the screen, there must be hundreds or even thousands more where that little guy came from.

Congrats to the whole Wandle crew.

I found that little chap very moving.

When you read what a superb river the Wandle once was and then about the Sewer it became, I think that one little fish redounds to your credit.

You all deserve a nice warm smug smile about that.

Somewhere in the east of England a Whingeing pom will be raising a glass tonight and toasting that little fella ( lady).
Brilliant work by all involved!
Have you posted its picture on the Photos of Brown trout Thread? That news deserves spreading around.

Brilliant job Theo et al. Congratulations and you should feel very proud of your achievements. An example to all. I only wish there was half as much single minded determination in the conservation of all of our fish stocks.

I'll have one and maybe one to celebrate

Ben
