Default wading without holding the rod??

is there anything or has anyone come up with a way of attaching the rod to your jacket or waders whilst wading so you can have your hands free when retying or doing whatever without sticking the rod under your arm?

Many fly vests and wading jackets have a loop in the hem (for the butt) and a velcro strap on the opposing shoulder for this very purpose. My Snowbee vest and Jacket both have this feature. I'm sure it's not unique to Snowbee though.

Use thigh waders and stick it down your leg.

I have the largest fly keeper ring I could find, whipped on the other way up(So it points upwards not down to the reel) When I am trying to deal with collecting bugs, or partaking in 'refreshments' mid stream. I clip the rod on to my lanyard.

However I must say the best system I have come across is still the velcro strips on some of the wading jackets that hold the rod vertical and the tip up out of harms way. No one has made a Harris tweed jacket with velcro strips though.

Why not customize your tweed jacket

My Orvis vest has the same feature, nice and easy to use rather than additional attachments
