Default Moncrieffe estate

Not sure if this is the right section for this , or the river section would have been better. but maybe it could be moved if needed.

Anyway i am considering on the idea of trying some river fishing this season but have no idea in where to start.

the Scottish lads will have heard of the above beat at Bridge of Earn and i am wandering if anyone has fished it or continues to fish it , as it has been a while since i seen anyone there. ( last time i seen anyone there was August , but was told by mum she seen someone fishing there in October )

I know from what i have read bellow the weir is tidal so i am assuming above the weir is possibly best to fish if i was alone , as i would be alone unless i could find someone willing to join me or allow me to join them for a days fishing. i dont have my own transport but it is fairly easy to reach by bus.

So just after any advice , help , tips etc as i am sure some of you lads have fished there in the past.
Cheers James

Never fished the earn that far down, think permits still available, link is, Moncrieffe Estate Fishing in Perthshire
Probably easiest to phone the paper shop and ask. Dupplin estate also do a season permit for trout at £30 upriver at forteviot.

yeah thats the site i found John but its not much help for first timers. as i was wanting a bit more in the way of help , advice for first timers etc as i dont know anything about river fishing so ideally would like someone to show me the ropes. other wise i could just be turning up and doing everything wrong lol.
Dupplin estate looks a bit more of a problem to get to via public transport so would need to give that a miss.
