Default simple buzzer fishing

Buzzers, a billion different tyings, abdomens of :- thread, lurex, latex, pheasant tail, flexi floss(spanflex), goose herl, mylar tubing, magic glass, stripped peacock herl, turkey biot, floss, seals fur, thin skin, ice yarn.. the list goes on. thoraxes of peacock herl, thread, beads, millions of dubbings...again, the list is endless....wing buds:- goose biot in everything from sunburst orange to chatreuse to hot orange and white...holographic tinsel in every shade, crisp packet, jungle cock, whats the best colour? Hot spots in vibrant colours, flosses, fluorescent threads, pantone pens. Then there's breathers (least the norm is white) but should we use marabou, swan, CDC, Antron, white paint, T-shirt paint or omit them altogether...again the list goes on and on....and what about the finish....varnish, superglue, superglue and varnish, epoxy or leave alone. Whats the best material to rib with? Holographic tinsel in a myriad of colours, silver wire, red wire(haemoglobin) copper wire, mirror flash(which colour) horse hair (coloured or natural), monofiliment, coloured monofilament, silver lurex, normal pearl lurex. Geez, I forgot thorax covers, again what to mix (traffic light buzzer) or perhaps I should omit? Oh, Fk, then there's hook size to represent the size of buzzer hatching, oh and wire thickness of hook! Need them to be fishing at the correct level in the water.....do I tye on straightish shanked hooks B175 Kamasans or buzzer styled hooks. Should I use an indicator to fish them or perhaps a a sedgehog? Maybe freehand is the way? Could be washing line, the fish could be high in the water....what would the expert use?

You know what, in my opinion, the pattern does not matter that much and nor does the colour. Get a darkish size 10 or 12 fishing really slowly at the right depth and you will catch if fish are feeding on buzzers

That means find the fish and find the depth and that will determine the method :

- up and down at all depths = bung
- deep = straight-lining with a long leader
- near the surface = washing line on a floater
- 5 feet down = washing line on an intermediate

Just make sure you fish them slow.

Get a heavy wire hook, about a size 10 and dunk it into bright red lacquer.

When dry, tie it on the point, fish two other buzzer patterns made by winding olive or brown thread around the bend, ribbed with silver wire and go out and catch a hell of a lot of fish.

Keep 'em simple. A grub or sedge hook, tying thread, varnished with a fine silver wire rib (optional). Size can be critical.

All the other "concoctions" are for catching anglers, or for the indulgence of fly-tiers
