Default getting my loomis fixed

Hi,

I managed to break my loomis today so please may someone give me a number or email address to contact shimano so I can get them to fix it.

Hi Tom

Be prepaired for a shock ! You need to speak to a chap called Jud [the boss]as everone else who works at FERLINDRE Shimano after sales service are rude and unhelpful in my experiance !
They will ask for original sales invoice and then tell you that the 15% warranty that you signed up to when you bought the rod is no longer in existance, they wanted £ 280 to replace my loomis last week !!
I quoted that fishtec have or had it on their website that it was 15% rrp of a new rod, and 4 other retailers all said the same on the phone .
Eventually after threatening to get Tradeing standards involved they gave me a new rod for £97.50

Not good service considering my rod cost £ 650

When i get it back i will be putting it on this site for SALE !! i want a firm with a fair warranty !

I sent my 8wt crosscurrent straight to loomis USA I had a new one with in a month, I had to wait but that was better than dealing with shimano over here. I would never buy a shimano product again there after sales is rubbish. Will stick to Sage in future

Tom.....it's the metal part of your reel seat that's broken on the rod...

This is obviously a fault in the product; and not one that you have caused through normal use or abuse..the rod is brand new (you've only used it 6 times !)

Quite Simply they should replace it for you free of charge......you have statutory (legal) rights under the Sale of Goods Act ...these cannot be taken away and you are entitled by law to a repair, refund or replacement within a reasonable length of time (this is irrespective of a charge they may try and force on you)

Basically stand up to Shimano mate.....

If you want confirmation on your rights contact Consumer Direct 08454 04 05 06 (it's free) and ask them to put you in touch with a Trading Standards Civil Advisor....

Of if you bought it from a shop, take it back there and miss out dealing with Shimano altogether.
