I fished Morehall Reservoir this morning using a DI 7 with damsel nymph boobies and had 3 nice fish in 25 minutes.

Morehall is right on the edge of the Pennines with a few houses around it that look straight out of a Bronte novel.

Used a weight 8 DI 7 with a short 24 inch leader cast into some 20 feet of water. The fish were deep down and the wind blowing the full length of the ressie right off the moors was bitter.

Then I got very cold and came home.

Talk about "raw spring days" as Tom Ivens put it. You southern softies wouldn't be able to take it.

Right use a short leader about six feet with two flies 3ft apart, orange with orange eyes and an all white usually do the trick there.Take the boat up the res pass with the cages on your left and you will see a grass bank in front of you.About half way up the bank it juts out into a small point usually a holding spot try achoring points around the area and a dead slow figure of eight.
If no joy try drifting cast out sideways and let the boobys hit bottom now retrieve slow so the boobies fish under the boat and the drift helps fish them, hold on to your rod as takes can be savage.

If still no joy try infront of the gabians about a good cast and a half out, dont know why but black and green good there
hope this helps

agreed. by the gabiens you'll see load of bank anglers wading in. i would anchor up and cast towards the bank with bright boobies.
