Hi John

Give the folk in the lodge a ring beforehand and they will give you all the information you need - the fishery staff are the most helpful I've ever come across. Last time we fished early season down there we were catching on size 12 black buzzers and bloodworm patterns over by Robbo's cabin - midge tip or floater. There were so many fish that you only needed to use two flies and even then we got the odd double hook up.

Cheers
Mal

Default SOUNDS SWEET

Cheers Mal, that sounds really encouraging was hoping i might be able to get away with floating line and buzzers, nymphs if possible. was possibly expecting to do a bit more lure fishing but nothing beats watching that floating line twitching away

To tell the truth although everyone talks about "great top of the water sport" at Eyebrook, I almost always find it responds best to lures.

Even in the floating line only Lexus heat there last year, I had most of my fish on blobs on the top dropper although I had a full team of nymphs behind. I would basically fish blob, nymph, lure unless I started catching on the nymph then I might add a second nymph.

fantastic place to fish , ive been down twice , robo cabin is good close into the shore from the boat if theres not to many banks anglers . the chesnuts is fantastic as is the cow shed , various method to try , cortland blue with cats whisker on the point and a blob on the dropper just go through the water levels until you find the depth ,,iam sure itwont be long before you get fish . tight line have fun .
