Default Right rod & Reel?

Help required. I Have just acquired a 10ft #8 Sage Rod. Will my number 7 lines on a greys 7/8 reel be Ok for it, or will I have to get new lines??

I would get new lines bud.Sage rods IMHO tend to load with the designated # rating or 1 line up.

Default You Can Only Try

You can only try and see if they balance out, but Sage are a powerful rod and sometimes need one weight more to load them.

Cheers

Rod rating isn't an exact science ( there are no rules at all ) so try other line weights and use the weight that you feel most comfortable with !

Good Luck
