Default Bridlington

I'm away with the family for the weekend 23/24/25th of April for our usual twice yearly trip for a weekend with the in-laws, this year's first weekend with them I've been given special dispensation to take along my fly tackle.
Does anybody have any recommendation on where I can wet a line around the Bridlington area, stillwater, reservoir or river?
I'm looking to escape for the day within an hour or so of Bridlington your advice would be appreciated

Cheers... Woz

Wykeham Lakes? Half an hour or so from Brid

Fishing-Wykeham Lakes-Fact File

Fished it about 10 years ago and it was excellent. No doubt somebody will be able to give some up to date info

Regards

Peter

hi , we were up that way last june. bloke in Orvis shop in Pickering was very helpful. worth a phone call. many happy memories as a lad fishing the beck. used to get good mayfly hatches then.
i fished the dove, small wild fish good fun. mullberry whin is not far away either. if you want to treat yourself, not fished it but been recommended.
plenty of rivers, would not bother with lakes. heard wykeham is good though.

ta , dave

Thanks Andy... A PM will be on it's way shortly!

Thanks... Dave

My first impression just looking over the Wykeham site and location was "that'll do for me" then I noticed the Esk on their page and thought "now that's more like it". Then the realisation kicks in and "what do I know about fishing a river with a fly!" lol
But thanks again, I only decided yesterday that I was actually going, I was going to enjoy the peace and quiet whilst the wife and daughter were away and take advantage by fishing at home all weekend. But seen as how I have all day Saturday to myself I might as well try something or somewhere new. I'm eager and keen to start fishing on moving water and hoping to get out a few times before we head up there.

Cheers... Woz
