Can someone please tell me what licence I need to fly fish for trout on Lough Erne as I am a little confused

Do I just need the game one or do I need a rod licence also ???

I want it to cover the season , here is link >>> https://applications.dcal-fishingni....sePermits.aspx

You need the rod license for sure just for the sake of having a rod, and then you need a "department game license". Now, the "department game license" can be bought to cover all of the department stocked / controlled N Ireland waters (including Lough Erne) or you can specify that you just want a Fermanagh one I think which covers you for Lough Erne and a few other lakes in the county e.g. the Mill Lough, Meenameen etc. The "Fermanagh only" one costs you less obviously. I buy mine in Home field and Stream in Enniskillen (very good store) or Frankie McPhillips (fly tying shop) in the Butter Market sells them as well. The rod license plus the Fermanagh departmental license cost me something like £60 plus. Hope this helps!!

Yes mate you need the 2 as above.

They retail at 64 stg for the Local permit and the game rod licence.

I really appreciate the deal for senior citizens here.I'm going down tomorrow to get my rod licence for £5 and my permit which lets me fish all the government waters ,including Lough Erne, for £15.
