Are you condemning the man or the book because you found a proof reading error, 17 ft instead of 7? Write to the publisher and point it out so they can correct it in future editions. I haven't fished it, I found that out by looking at my copy and Googling the name, which I would do for any loch I was thinking of fishing having looked at it in the book.

He seamed a nice guy when i was talking to him on Friday.
It took him 3 years to update all the info in the book.

As Sandy points out "A proof Reading mistake" Whilist not having fished the loch in question I take it the loch has an average depth of 7ft & not 17ft. Hardly a glaring mistake to my mind.
With over 84 individual areas covered & 100s of lochs within I am sure there are more than a few "mistakes" within it's pages.
A first class book & a welcome addition to anyone that wants basic info on fishing Scottish waters.

Let me see, founder of the Salmon Farm Protest Group, author of numerous well researched books about fishing and walking.

Doesn't really bear comparison to your contribution does it.

Just echoing what's been said earlier, if there is a minor error I'm sure the publishers would be the guys to get in touch with.
