wrong flowers for hemp. where and when was it taken ? everything else looks dead.

Never seen anything like it Mick. It sure looks like it a garden plant, either arrived from upstream or with top soil, landscaped and dumped. I wonder how something like that stands up to the strimmers brush cutter blade?

It reminds me of an umbrella plant that is for indoors but I have not seen them flower and the leaves are the wrong colour.

Looked on the website and it's not one of the big five or so listed invasive species

It looks like a hellebore - probably either H. foetidus or viridis. Both are native to Britain, but mostly found in the south, so this one may be a garden escapee.

It's a nice plant, but is poisonous so probably best not to smoke it.

Edit PS - I think it's foetidus, as viridis has a paler, less deeply serrated leaf.
