Default Discover the hatch.

I read an e-mail today sent from a guide in Mexico that once was a guide here in the states. He knew so much about the hatch and what kind of flies to use and when. How would one go about discovering what flies to immitate and how do identify them??

Good day

Welcome to the forum. Its a bit strange that the most important question in fly fishing has'nt been answered for you yet! Try a copy of John Goddards book "waterside guide", it details different waterside insects, their life cycles and their artificial representation. You can try on the entymology section on the forum too.JB

Thanks JB I will make sure to order a copy of that book tonight and start to familiarize myself with all the types of water insects. I'm really excited to be a part of this forum. Hopefully more good conversations to come!
