Default What made these?

I went over to our pond today and guess what ? It was still fully frozen
over.
Looks like it will be a couple of weeks of warm weather before we will be
able to fish.
On the way back I noticed these prints in the snow.
There are trees to the right and a water source to the left of the pictures.
The first picture shows two prints, they are in excess of 6ft apart.
The second picture shows the prints going down to the water source and
if you can see them- prints coming back.
Not all the prints are that far apart I suppose they average 4ft.
It looks like some animal came from the trees and went down to the
water to drink-but what could it be? Any ideas Peter
