Default Getting rid of line memory

Looking for some advice on getting rid of line memory. Had a day out today and on retrieving the line it made nice 4 inch loops at my feet and when cast it was snaking on the water even whilst retrieving. It would be nice to think I could improve the line rather than buy new. All helpful advice appreciated

try attatching a swivel to one end fastened to a tree or gatepost or similar , unwind all the line and pull gently to take all the twists out then stretch the line whilst still attatched to the swivel .....

First of all, ensure there is no twist in the line, so get yourself a ball of string and a coarse/sea fishing barrel swivel.

Tie string round a tree or post with plenty space behind you, attach swivel to the string then attach fly line to swivel with another bit of string, walk back wards unspooling the line until all the way out, lift and pull. That should take out any twist.

Now, using a damp cloth, from the back of the line forwards, give the line a wee stretch every couple of feet, don't pull too hard.

What line is it anyway?

The Pirate.

Don't waste your time doing this with the SS floater, it will be a futile excercise.

Not with a standard SS floater mate, he'll end up resorting to hanging himself with it
