Yes had an mri, said i had slight disc bulge lower level three but according to the people who say they know, this is not the problem they are saying it is musculure,if so why does it go into spasm when standing still ,something must be pressing on nerves,at my wits end
Had the mri whilst laying on my back not standing up which makes me wonder

I can only speak from my owwn experience and say that this thing works wonders for my back.

The Award-Winning Backstretcher

It might be all in the head but it works for me, had it for years now and wouldn`t be without it.

I too had a bulging disc in the lower back. Saw a physio and was advised it was a posture thing (the way I sit at work, hockey, slumping over a guitar) but that it could be corrected by strengthening the core muscles. Did the exercises the physio recommended religiously, got a pilates class started at work where we shared the cost of a teacher coming in at lunchtime, changed round my desk at work, bought a strap for the guitar and a lumber support for the car, and have had no further problems.

That said, there's no harm in trying accupuncture, is there? One of my pals from many moons ago saw a vast improvement to her profound deafness doing it, and she's not the sort to indulge in flights of fancy.

I had accupuncture treatment in my ankle some years ago. After four visits I said to the practitioner. for all the good you are doing my ankle with those needles you might as wll be sticking them in my backside. He said I think perhaps your right, but it still cost me £100.00.

Spot on, strengthen core muscles and look at posture before you try acupuncture.

I've tried acupuncture, very good for treatment of things like relief of stress, relaxation, but it also needs regular visits, it's not a one off thing and therefore expensive; finding a good one is also hard.
A work colleague was sufferimg from a pinched nerve in his neck and back and was taking strong painkillers for 9 months. He went to a osteopath and after 2 or 3 visits, he was cured!
Also worth buying the "Treat your own back" and "Treat your own neck" series of books, based on doing simple exercises and controlling posture to relieve back and neck problems.
Treat Your Own Back: Amazon.co.uk: Robin A. McKenzie: Books Treat Your Own Back: Amazon.co.uk: Robin A. McKenzie: Books
Google/Amazon for testimonials. I used to a lot of weights when younger and once blew a disc. I was in agony and after about 12 sessions with a normal physio who did nothing, I was recommended one who was trained in the methods of above. He advised me to buy the book, showed me a series of exercises to do every hour, and use a lumbar roll, and I was cured in 2 sessions!
