Graiglwyd springs in Penmaenmawr? A little small but a very well run fishery with some excellent conditioned hard fighting fish. Why the 'thumbs down'?

Welcome to the forums by the way.

Its only about two and a half acres but its a great place to fish, and Hugh the owner is sound, its stocked with hard fighting fish with the average about two and a half pound going upto about eighteen pound, he allows catch and return but you must use barbless after your limit and release fish while still in the water, im going up tomorrow in fact! give it a go, im sure you'd enjoy it, regards Ian

I fish there around once a month during the winter. It's not the best looking place in the world but like the gents say it's very well run and full of hard fighting fish. Imagine a square concrete hole about the size of half a football pitch with 4 pegs along each side. For me it feeds the habit whilst Brenig is closed.

Get there early if you want a choice of where to fish and be prepared to be surrounded by the "bung boys"

It sounds like I'm puting the place down and it's not my intention as I do enjoy my days there and there is a realistic chance of a double every time you go.

I always start straight lining buzzers/DB's/Crunchers on a midge tip. If they start to rise you'll do a lot worse than a size 12 red or black cdc shuttlecock.
