Default Advice on 7ft #2/3 rod

I'm thinking of treating myself to a small-stream rod, and a 7ft #2/3 rod I think will fit the bill. I notice that Wychwood do one in their Trufly series, and I'm very tempted by this as I've got a couple of Trufly rods which I'm very pleased with, albeit that they are both 10ft rods.

Has anyone got one of the 7ft Wychwood rods, and if so what do they think of it? Should I be considering anything else (bearing in mind that I don't intend spending more than £70!)?

don't mess about, go for the sage txl or the hardy marksman. they are the best of the bunch but as always the price reflects this. you get what you pay for. jon.

That would be treating yourself - I've got as close as having the Marksman in the 'on-line basket' of a well known suppliers website but then got distracted, came back later and didn't get round to it.

Still not convinced Jon, sorry mate

PS

...and then the cane boys get you thinking

...and then you get invited to have the Sunday afternoon / evening slot on a very private little gem of a lake and the focus shifts

I've been using a 7ft6 3/4# GRXi for all my small stream work for 4 years-casts fine and is particularly good at playing fish, nice and gentle but with a bit of grunt if required.
Seems to be tough as old boots...which is just as well..

Hi, I got a Wychwood Truefly 7`0" 2/3wt, tail end of last season, only used it a few times, but I think it`s a great wee rod. I used it with a Wychwood Extremis4/5wt, but thought the reel was a bit on the heavy side. I bought a Lamson Konic 1.5-3/4wt for it, and the balance seems a lot better. Great wee caster too. I also have a Truefly 9`0" 5/6wt that I was quite impressed with. PeterForgot to mention, I`m using it with a Hardy Premium 2wt DT line.

If I had £70 to spend it would go on the Greys GRXi, if I had £200 it would be the Hardy Featherweight and if I had £400 it would be the Sage TXL.

Thanks for your responses guys - I've decided to go with the Greys GRXi 7ft #2/3 3-piece rod. There's no way that I could justify spending Sage-type money for a rod like this!
