 To promote the veterinary and allied sciences in relation to the welfare of the horse.
 To provide facilities for the exchange of ideas on the health and diseases of the horse.
 To encourage research into equine problems.
 To foster the collection, widening and publication of world literature on the veterinary and allied sciences in relation to the horse.
 To co-operate with national and international bodies interested in the promotion of the veterinary and allied sciences in relation to the horse.
