Default New to fly tying

Hi Guys

I am new to the forum and also to fly tying.

My son is really keen to learn fly tying and always asking for more and stuff to allow him to tie up some new flies.

I have been told to buy the Fritz and Marabou from David Downie and he is building up a collection of threads , feathers and tools.

I now need to get him some Foam and Cutters to make booby eyes.

Could someone point me in the best direction on where I can buy these.

Thanks

The next best thing to attending classes on fly dressing, is to get a couple of good books showing a few of the basic techniques of putting a fly together. There are also DVDs which show a lot too.

Even I, as a fly dresser of some 40 years, have learned a whole lot more from watching Davy McPhail on Youtube the DVDs produced by Steve P and Mick Huffer and a rather good collection of patterns in Steve Ps Fly Dressing Notes which he will sell you for a modest amount.
