Default Child-friendly fisheries in Berkshire

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone on here could help. I've offered to take my bosses son fishing, and struggling to find anywhere local (berkshire/oxfordshire) that:
1. Allows young-uns (boy in question is 8/9)
2. Practises catch and release (not sure how he'll react to bludgeoning the catch)

Can anyone advise anywhere, otherwise we'll have to take a spinning rod down to the Thames.

Thanks

John

I would try Haywards Farm Fishery. They have a catch & release lake.

The owner is very friendly so I don't think he would mind you taking a child along.

haywards farm trout fishery

Website says they open again on 27th Feb. There's also a Sportfish shop there.

frensham in surrey, it will be around an hour for you. it is very child friendly and it is catch and release you will also catch a shed load of fish. the lakes vary in size from 1 acre to so small you can cast from one bank to the other so lad will have no probs casting. hope this helps, jon.

Thanks for the advice, contacted Haywards Farm previously and was told that no kids below 12yrs old, planning on heading over there next weekend though - so may ask again then.

Frensham sounds good, might find that this littlun isn't too squeemish, his dad thinks he might be, but I know I wasn't at that age.

Cheers. John
