You will have to excuse my ignorance if this has already been covered.
I have been searching for a couple of days now for a Danielsson reel and have finally found a good price.
I am not going to put the suppliers details down because I feel that there is enough 'plugging' of dealers already on this site.

My thoughts are: Why not create a new forum which is for WANTED BRAND NEW TACKLE only and let all the suppliers on this site come to us and give us their best prices. Not only will we then be able to get a good deal but we will be able to really see who is offering the best deals as it will be displayed in black and white for everyone to see.

I dont see why. All I am suggesting is that the suppliers come to us with their best prices.
I feel it would work. For instance, if I was looking for a specific rod or reel and there were several postings from suppliers offering their best price for all to see, they could sell not only my rod or reel but could possibly tempt others at that unbeatable price.
Sorry if it opens a can of worms but does this not make sense?
After all is this site not specifically for its members and the dealers are only on this site to make money. If so let them make their money but let us get a good deal in the process.

retailers are often obliged to conform to RRP prices set by the manufacturer as detailed on account contracts. any change to this is seen as a contractual infringement and can lead to the retailer losing their account with the manufacturer.

You say you cant see it happening. It can only be the dealers that would be against this and only if they felt that they would be beaten on pricing.
As for us members looking for a deal it can only work.
Who cares if it upsets the dealers. It is their job. I get upset regularly at work but thats life. (If you cant stand the heat-kitchen springs to mind)
Surely the dealers are an addition to this site which is for the benefit of us members.
Maybe I have got it wrong I dont know, it just seems a good way to purchase items and stop all this 'bickering' on who is the cheapest etc does it not?

Thats fine then they dont quote on prices and let other dealers who are not afraid to be outspoken and offer deals quote.

ok, so retailer A offers you a g-tec at £100 under RRP. hardy greys get ****** off, cancel the retailers account. your rod breaks next week, your retailer cant deal with the issue, everyone gets ****** off, no-one wins.

i tell you what. write down your weekly groceries list, and forward email it to all the big supermarket chains asking for the best deal you can get. good luck!
