make sure sleeve is on braid, thread fly line 2 inches into braid, push sleeve over join, dab of superglue trim tatty bits of braid, go fishing.

This might help. Ignore the first minute or so if you've already got a made up loop.

Cheers, James

I managed a lose a braided loop at farmoor at the weekend, just fell off the end of the line. It was superglued on too. Bloody annoying.

You might find that what happened is the line had been hinging around the tubing and cracked the outer coating which then slid off the core of the fly line; simple solution to prevent this is to do a whip finish in place of the sleeve. Braided loops are meant to have a 40lb join strength if done correctly.

There was a flyline manufacturer/seller who issued braid loops with their line which were far too big for the line (Salmon braid for trout line) they were always going to fall off. I think they eventually stuck a sticker to the box.with a warning.
